Accessibility statement
Lightning TV wants viewers and match-night staff to be able to use the service regardless of technology or ability. We aim to follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, but the service has not yet completed an independent accessibility audit and we do not claim full conformance.
What we support
The site is designed to support keyboard navigation, visible focus, meaningful headings and labels, text resizing, responsive layouts, reduced-motion preferences and common screen readers. Status information is presented in text as well as colour where practical.
The open-registration journey does not require an invitation or approval step. Account creation, email verification, pass review and checkout use labelled controls and written status or error messages. Verifying an email is clearly distinguished from obtaining a paid-game entitlement, so viewers are directed to an order, eligible discount redemption or support when access is still missing.
The discount-code form has an explicit label, text error and success messages, a removable applied state, a written original/discount/final price breakdown, the number of included games covered, and a distinct “Get stream access” or “Get pass access” action when the final price is zero. These controls remain keyboard-operable and do not rely on colour alone.
Pre-match countdowns use a server-synchronised visible timer, refresh at the 60-minute and 40-minute boundaries, and resynchronise when a hidden tab regains focus. The changing seconds are not announced every second to screen readers; the surrounding heading explains the target and the page refresh announces the newly available content.
Statistics and fan-message tools may be enabled or disabled per fixture. The core fixture, protected video, playback help, feedback and support paths remain available without requiring a visual map or fast-changing statistics.
Known limitations
- Some live broadcasts may not include captions, a transcript or audio description.
- Fast-changing match statistics, visual rink maps and live engagement tools may not yet provide an equivalent experience for every assistive technology.
- Third-party payment, video and casting interfaces have their own accessibility support and may behave differently from Lightning TV pages.
- Older match-night administration screens may be harder to use at high zoom or on a narrow display.
We are working to identify and prioritise barriers as the service is tested. Publishing a known limitation does not mean we will leave it unresolved.
Ask for help or an alternative
Email [email protected] if you cannot access content or complete an action. Tell us the page or fixture, what you were trying to do, your browser or device, and any assistive technology used. Do not include passwords or payment-card details.
We will consider a reasonable alternative, such as providing information in another accessible format or helping you complete an account or support action. Response time can depend on the format and the proximity of a live fixture.
Feedback
Accessibility feedback is welcome at [email protected]. If you report a barrier, we will record enough information to investigate it and will handle your personal information under our Privacy notice.
